Job summary

Budderfly seeks a highly motivated Virtual Power Plant Program Manager to orchestrate Optimization Systems including VPP, energy efficiency, and battery programs. You will support partner integrations, manage programs, analyze performance, and translate insights into actionable improvements that boost customer outcomes.

The role blends strategic planning with hands-on implementation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years in demand response or related field.
• Knowledge of DR, VPP, energy efficiency, battery programs and growth beyond thermostats.
• Understanding of AI in energy sector.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in start-up environments.
• Familiarity with program management methodologies and tools.
• PM certifications (PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze energy performance, site response, dispatch results, and program data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate findings, risks, and next steps clearly to internal teams, partners, and senior management.
• Cultivate and expand relationships with Budderfly’s Utility and Energy Market partners.
• Oversee program success and guide coordination and project management for optimization programs.
• Contribute to Load Flexibility strategy and expansion planning.
• Collaborate with Sales, Development, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to ensure high-quality program delivery.
• Coordinate with teams to prioritize client-reported issues and maintain clear communication with clients.
• Manage the implementation and operation of Energy Efficiency, VPP, and Battery programs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in energy management.
• Support new business opportunities and lead new work with Technical Product Manager.
