Budderfly is seeking a Program Manager for Virtual Power Plant and Load Flexibility to coordinate optimization systems, support partner integrations, and drive program performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role combines strategy and implementation, offers autonomy, and requires strong analytical and communication skills to enhance customer outcomes and grid reliability across the US. Location in Shelton, CT preferred, remote eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in demand response program management or related field.
• Understanding of demand response, VPP, energy efficiency, and battery program management.
• Experience working with AI in the energy sector.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Thrives in a start-up environment with ability to dig into work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of program management methodologies and tools.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to solve ambiguity.
• Self-starter with ability to translate operational data, event results, and performance trends into practical recommendations and measurable program improvements.
• Professional certifications such as PMP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze energy performance, dispatch results, and program data to identify trends and improvements.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to internal teams, partners, and leadership.
• Cultivate and expand relationships with utility and energy market partners.
• Oversee program success and coordinate cross-functional activities.
• Contribute to load flexibility strategy and expansion planning.
• Collaborate with sales, development, marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Coordinate with teams to prioritize client-reported issues and maintain clear client communication.
• Manage and oversee energy efficiency, VPP, and battery programs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in energy management.
• Respond to RFPs or engage new business, coordinating with Technical Product Manager as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
