Job summary

Copper is seeking an Energy Products Program Manager to run day-to-day energy pilots and programs, coordinating with engineering, product, and external partners to keep schedules on track from planning to installation and VPP event dispatch.

This hands-on, execution-focused role requires strong communication, experience in hardware or renewables, and a bias toward action. The position is hybrid, based in Berkeley, CA, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Track record in program management, operations, or execution-focused roles.
• Experience with hardware, field operations, or renewable energy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to run meetings & represent a program externally.
• Bias toward action; comfortable in ambiguity.
• Willingness to travel locally and support installs in person.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day execution of Copper's pilots and programs—track status, resolve blockers, keep everyone aligned on progress.
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for our partners.
• Prepare for and run recurring program meetings with clear notes, actions, and follow-through.
• Maintain program documentation, trackers, and reporting so pilot status is accurate and communicable.
• Partner with Engineering and Product across design, prototyping, testing, and deployments; flag schedule/scope risks early.
• Translate technical requirements between Engineering and external stakeholders to avoid miscommunication.
• Support installations in person as needed, becoming a credible field resource.
• Help scope and stand up additional pilots and energy programs as Copper's energy services portfolio grows.
• Track policy, regulatory, and market developments and flag for Copper's programs and partnerships.
• Support market research to size and evaluate new program or partnership opportunities.
