Job summary

State of Wyoming seeks a seasoned supervisor to manage Wyoming0 Agreement State Program (SMURP) within the DEQ, Land Quality Division. You will lead staff, oversee licensing, and coordinate enforcement actions to protect human health and the environment.

The role requires coordination with high-level officials and the public, providing insights on uranium mining and reclamation processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in The Sciences is required.
  • 35 years of progressive experience in a Natural Resources program.
  • Extensive travel as Wyoming7s representative is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Implement plans and goals of the Wyoming/NRC Agreement State Program.
  • Organize, plan, and oversee all SMURP staff activities.
  • Coordinate licensing processes and enforcement actions.
  • Present expert testimony on uranium mining issues.
  • Liaise with legislatures, attorneys, engineers, and the public.
