Job summary

Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a Natural Resources Program Principal to lead remediation projects, approve engineering designs, and coordinate construction, operations, and inspections of underground and above-ground storage tanks to support site cleanups.

The successful candidate will review data, manage consultants and contractors, and ensure compliance with federal and state environmental laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a science field is required.
• 1-2 years of progressive work experience in the sciences with natural resources exposure, or 4-6 years with equivalent knowledge.
• Experience substitution at a higher level may apply for equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews consultant submittals and develops remedies for remediation.
• Analyzes environmental data and supports site characterization and risk assessment.
• Answers technical questions on policies, procedures and regulations.
• Oversees consultants and contractors on remediation projects and negotiates scope and cost.
• Coordinates with various officials and stakeholders on technical matters.
