You will lead WBRs, MBRs, and the operating plan cycles end to end, coordinating inputs across many owners to deliver a single, coherent narrative.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual operating plan cycles (OP1 and OP2) for RPE end to end, setting the workback, running intake and prioritization, orchestrating inputs across partner teams and RPE team leads, and owning the all-up plan as the single point of accountability, while partnering with WISP on headcount and entitlement as inputs you consume rather than own.
  • Own RPE's core operating rhythms end to end, producing and program-managing the Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) (deck production, prep, facilitation, follow-up), while content owners own their inputs, numbers, and narrative.

  • Own the strategy, frameworks, and execution standards for how cross-functional work is governed and delivered.
  • Own Special Programs as the stage gate for net-new efforts: own intake and scoping, decide what moves forward, incubate it, and transition each to a permanent owner or orderly sunset.

Job description

Job ID: 10593808 | Amazon.com Services LLC

Want to be the person who keeps a fast-moving organization running in rhythm? Relay Product Excellence (RPE) protects Customers, Carriers, Drivers, and Amazon globally through fast-paced investigation and analytics, and we need a senior program manager on our Strategic Programs and Organizational eXcellence (SPOX) team to own the operating rhythms and delivery mechanisms that keep the whole organization on cadence.

This is a true program management role. The operating rhythms you run (Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs), Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and the operating plan cycles) are the mechanisms through which RPE delivers on its programs and hits its goals, and you'll own them end to end to make sure it does. You'll own the operating rhythms, execution standards, and governance mechanisms that bring consistency and rigor across a growing portfolio of risk and investigation initiatives, running deck production, forum prep, facilitation, and follow-up, and continuously optimizing the mechanisms so they drive the right focus and outcomes. Goal tracking is central: you'll keep RPE's goals visible, surface where delivery is on or off track, and drive the follow-through that closes the gap. This is a role for someone who thrives on orchestration and cross-team coordination: herding many inputs from many owners into one coherent, on-time narrative, and being the single point of contact that partner teams engage instead of a dozen individuals.

You'll serve as the owner of the mechanism, strategy, and frameworks for how RPE's cross-functional work runs, partnering closely with Workforce Intelligence & Strategic Planning (WISP) on the headcount and entitlement inputs that feed the planning cycles, while content and program owners retain authorship of their own numbers and narrative.

Alongside the operating rhythms, you'll own RPE's Special Programs: the stage gate for net-new programmatic efforts requested of RPE, where you own intake, scope and pressure-test each ask, incubate the ones that move forward, and transition them to a permanent owner once they are stood up (or decline the ones that should not proceed). Special Programs also includes the ad hoc, leadership-driven initiatives that land without warning, so you'll build and run the mechanisms that triage, route, resolve, and communicate them with speed and rigor. The ideal candidate brings exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to manage many stakeholders at once, earn trust across partner teams, and deliver independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own goal tracking for RPE, using the operating rhythms to keep goals visible, surface where delivery is off track, and drive follow-through so RPE hits its commitments.

  • Continuously optimize the operating rhythms so they stay focused on the decisions that move RPE's goals, retiring what no longer adds value.

  • Serve as the single conduit between RPE and partner teams for recurring reviews and communications, so outside teams engage one accountable owner.

  • Own the strategy, frameworks, and execution standards for how cross-functional work is governed and delivered.

  • Own Special Programs as the stage gate for net-new efforts: own intake and scoping, decide what moves forward, incubate it, and transition each to a permanent owner or orderly sunset.

  • Influence stakeholders through data-driven insights and written narratives, handling sensitive data per Amazon's data classification and privacy policies.

A day in the life

In this role, you'll navigate ambiguity daily, reading program health against RPE's goals, making high-judgment calls on where to focus, and course-correcting as new information emerges. You'll orchestrate the operating rhythms and the operating plan, turning many owners' inputs into one coherent narrative and driving the decisions and follow-through that keep RPE on track. When a new Special Programs ask lands, you'll scope it and set a path forward without waiting for perfect information. You'll drive alignment across teams through influence, not authority, and continuously raise the bar on the mechanisms that hold the organization accountable, partnering with WISP on headcount and entitlement.

About the team

Middle Mile Transportation Technology moves millions of packages across Amazon's network daily, and Relay Product Excellence (RPE) ensures those systems stay protected. Our program managers, analysts, and investigators deliver rapid-cycle investigation and analytics that safeguard Customers, Carriers, Drivers, and Amazon globally.

Within RPE, the Strategic Programs and Organizational eXcellence (SPOX) team is the connective tissue, spanning Program Delivery, Escalations, Team Growth, Continuous Improvement, and Special Programs. SPOX owns the program management frameworks, milestone governance, execution methodology, and operating rhythms that give teams structure to move fast. We partner closely with Workforce Intelligence & Strategic Planning (WISP), which owns the headcount and entitlement core, while SPOX owns the mechanisms, strategy, and frameworks around everything else.
