Job summary

Job description

ProgramManagerI – Responsibilities
  • Manage all programmatic aspects of multiple assigned projects, focusing on customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning.
  • Track and report on project status, technical execution, and overall program performance.
  • Supervise program and project staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for customers.
  • Participate in business resource planning and tracking in coordination with other corporate entities.
  • Formulate and lead a team to fulfill program requirements.
  • Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems.
  • Manage program risks and opportunities by identifying, mitigating, and tracking them.
  • Interface on project/program status and develop proposals.
  • Conduct research and fact-finding for project/program needs.
  • Coordinate audits and negotiate with project/program stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints.
  • Support the Program Director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities for the Business Area.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Six or more years of progressive experience in project or program management.
  • One or more years of experience leading teams of three or more cross‑functional members.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the required educational qualifications; in the absence of a degree a minimum of nine years of related experience is required.
  • Formal A&D industry experience with evaluation of RFPs, preparation, review, and submission of proposals and quotes, contract negotiations, managing multiple projects and serving as the primary focal point for a customer.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen to ensure fiscally sound decisions.
  • Ability to coordinate all elements of a program, including integration management, task coordination, resource development, and stakeholder identification.
  • Capability to manage program‑lifecycle conflicts, prioritize competing priorities, and evaluate available resources.
  • Leadership abilities inclusive of change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.
  • Ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire a team, drive innovative thinking, encourage collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in program‑management disciplines.
  • Current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Working knowledge of the Project Management Institute’s Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Experience managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile, or spiral development models.
  • Familiarity with earned‑value management.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with corporate and ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes.
  • Knowledge of corporate project‑management tools and application data architectures.
