Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong financial acumen for fiscally sound decisions.
  • Ability to coordinate all elements of a program and lifecycle management.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and performance management abilities.

Responsibilities

As a Program Manager I, you will oversee multiple projects to support the business objectives at SNC, ensuring successful customer relationships, cost management, scheduling, and technical execution. You will manage programs with budgets up to $20M, supervise project staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for customers. Your role includes business resource planning, risk and opportunity management, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all programmatic aspects of multiple assigned projects, focusing on customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning.

  • Track and report on project status, technical execution, and overall program performance.

  • Supervise program and project staff to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for customers.

  • Participate in business resource planning and tracking in coordination with other corporate entities.

  • Formulate and lead a team to fulfill program requirements.

  • Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems.

  • Manage program risks and opportunities by identifying, mitigating, tracking, and managing them.

  • Interface on project/program status and develop proposals.

  • Conduct research and fact-finding for project/program needs.

  • Coordinate audits and negotiate with project/program stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints.

  • Support the Program Director and Business Operations in fulfilling their responsibilities for the Business Area.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field.

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry.

  • Direct experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and responsibly utilize enterprise-approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance program management execution.

  • 1+ years' experience leading teams made up of 3+ cross functional team members.

  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • Experience with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or quotes. Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.

  • Experience with contract negotiations, and the difference in contract types.

  • Experience with managing multiple projects and/or a small program.

  • Experience with being the primary focal for a customer.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.

  • Ability to execute coordination of all elements of a program, i.e., Program integration management.

  • Perform task coordination, resource development, stakeholder identification, etc.

  • Capability to manage program lifecycle conflicts, prioritize competing priorities/requests, and evaluate available resources.

  • Leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.

  • Requires ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.

  • Requires skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (will not be considered in lieu of required experience).

  • Direct experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) on DCMA‑administered contracts

  • Hands‑on experience with aircraft modification programs , including familiarity with engineering change processes, airworthiness impacts, configuration management, certification considerations, and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Experience supporting or managing flight sciences activities , such as aerodynamics, performance, loads, structures, handling qualities, or flight test integration, with the ability to bridge technical inputs into cost, schedule, and risk‑based program decisions.

  • Proven ability to manage subcontracts for both services and hardware .

  • Advanced degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field (may be considered in lieu of 1 year of required project/program management experience).

  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

  • Working knowledge of Program Management Institute Program Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

  • Managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile, and or spiral development models.

  • Familiarity with projects requiring Earned Value Management.

  • Understanding with application tools and data architectures.

  • Ability to reinforce the usage & application of Corporate PM tools.

  • Experience with ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
