Job description

This role will start on July 21st, 2025.

Program Managers (PMs) will facilitate high-impact relationships between 80-100 mentee/mentor pairs by leveraging iMentor’s programmatic model to deepen pair relationships and help mentors guide mentees toward developing a robust post-secondary plan by high school graduation and supporting a successful transition into a post-secondary pathway. PMs will work with mentors (adult volunteers) to position them as a “go-to” resource for their mentee and provide individual coaching to ensure pair growth. Reporting to the Program Director, PMs will facilitate weekly classroom sessions for mentees, lead monthly pair events, and provide individualized support for pairs. They will help develop strong partnerships at their school sites and contribute to iMentor’s impact in the post-secondary success landscape.

The ideal candidate will have two (2)+ years of professional experience. They will have experience working with high school-aged youth, an understanding or interest in the post-secondary landscape, and an interest in or experience working with adult volunteers. They will believe deeply in mentoring as a tool for youth success and be confident that, with the right support, a caring, committed adult can build a relationship with a student and support their post-secondary journey. The candidate most aligned with the iMentor vision believes that every student deserves a champion and a chance to have a fulfilling post-secondary experience leading to a financially stable career.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide high-quality pair support to approximately 100 mentee-mentor pairs
  2. Match mentors and mentees at the beginning of each program cycle
  3. Provide cohort-level and individualized coaching for mentors to support and build relationships with mentees
  4. Lead targeted case management support for pairs to ensure they meet programmatic outcomes and participation requirements
  5. Use data to identify pairs needing additional support or interventions
  6. Utilize iMentor’s online platform to document notes and troubleshoot struggling pairs with supervisors
  7. Create and coordinate in-person meetings to increase program participation

Ensure high-quality curricular engagement

  1. Lead multiple classroom sessions per week at partner school locations
  2. Ensure mentees and mentors exchange meaningful correspondence weekly via iMentor’s platform
  3. Plan and manage monthly events at school sites
  4. Promote and facilitate mentor training
  5. Collaborate with managers and the Associate Director of High School Partnerships to develop partnerships with school staff and administrators

Provide targeted post-secondary support

  1. Work closely with partner schools and internal teams to align on post-secondary goals and strategies
  2. Maintain high-quality, timely notes on all support provided
  3. Use class sessions and events to build college and career aspirations and assist in navigating the post-secondary process
  4. Support mentors and pairs in identifying and achieving post-secondary goals

Other Responsibilities

  1. Communicate weekly with mentors via email
  2. Track attendance at classes and events
  3. Attend weekly and monthly team meetings (in person/virtually)
  4. Participate in ongoing training
  5. Comply with safety policies and procedures
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

ROLE LOGISTICS & REQUIREMENTS

  1. This is a school-based role with 3-4 days per week in schools and 3-4 days per month in the office
  2. Willingness to work 3-5 evenings per month
  3. Ability to travel regionally for events and trainings (transportation not provided)
  4. This position begins on July 21st, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Two (2)+ years of experience in youth development, education, or volunteer engagement
  2. Strong belief in mentoring to help students achieve aspirations
  3. Excellent communication skills, including tough conversations
  4. Strong organization and time-management skills
  5. Ability to analyze data and determine next steps
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Experience facilitating classroom sessions and events
  8. Experience working with high school students, school staff, and volunteers
  9. Experience in college access programming or volunteer management (a plus)
  10. Knowledge of local community, school culture, and college landscape (a plus)
  11. Alignment with iMentor’s mission and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion
  12. Bachelor’s degree required
  13. Must meet district compliance requirements, including background checks
  14. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start date
