Description

Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university programor department, including the supervision of staff employees,student workers, programs or processes.

  • 1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a large orcomplex department or program.
  • 2. Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budgetanalysis.
  • 3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluatesperformance.
  • 4. Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals,operations and procedure manuals, and other written material anddocumentation.
  • 5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures andactivities.
  • 6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.
  • 7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies andprocedures.
  • 8. May serve as property custodian for the department.
  • 9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Position Information

The Program Manager for the Executive Doctorate in BusinessAdministration program at the C. T. Bauer College of Business isresponsible for assisting in all aspects of the administration ofthe program, particularly event planning, contract management,vendor acquisitions, and department travel expenses.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

Job duties will include communicating between program participantsand managerial staff, creating and updating program schedules, and assisting in planning and managing program events.

  • 1. Coordinates communications with students and faculty regardinginformational sessions, orientations, and other programactivities.
  • 2. Coordinates the scheduling and logistics for student proposaland dissertation defenses, including calendar management withstudents and committee members.
  • 3. Oversees venue selection, contracts, and logistical planning for all DBA events.
  • 4. Manages the procurement process for program-related purchases bycoordinating with vendors, executing contracts, and processingpayment vouchers in accordance with university policies.
  • 5. Processes and tracks student research reimbursements inaccordance with university and program policies.
  • 6. Collaborates with the Bauer Communications team on marketingcampaigns targeting prospective DBA students.
  • 7. Creates content for the program’s social media platforms,including LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, in support of strategicinitiatives and in compliance with university communicationsguidelines.
  • 8. Assists with updating and maintaining DBA program materials,including the student profile book, student handbook, calendars,and other program resources.
  • 9. Available multiple evenings and weekends during the spring andfall semesters to assist with virtual classes and on-campusresidencies.
  • 10. Assists with assessment efforts to include learning outcomes,evaluation and assessment of programs, services, facilities, andbenchmark studies.
  • 11. Collects and analyzes data on prospective, admitted, and deniedstudents.
  • 12. Assists with budget planning, analysis, and reporting for theDBA program.
  • 13. Performs other job duties as assigned.

  • As this program requires dealing with top-level executives,experience in service-oriented industries and client relationshipswill be highly valued
  • Master’s degree in Education or Business.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a student-facing higher educationposition (admissions, advising, recruiting, etc.)

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year ofdirectly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
