Job summary

University of Houston in Houston seeks an experienced Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a large department or program within Electrical Engineering. You will supervise staff and student workers, manage procedures and reporting.

Ideal candidates bring project management experience, strong task-management skills, and the ability to develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures. Education and experience may be considered interchangeably; a 4-year degree or equivalent

  • Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  • Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
  • May administer grants and grant-related communications, scholarships and other operations.
  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  • May serve as property custodian for the department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Description:

  5. Creates and reviews reports of expenditures andactivities.
  6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications,scholarships and other operations.

Seeking experienced Program Manager that will manage the ongoinggrant-related activities of a medium to large university program.Ideal candidate will have experience and background in projectmanagement, using software applications, and excellenttask-management skills.

Experience will be considered in lieu ofeducation.

Education will be considered in lieu ofexperience.

MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year ofdirectly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
