Job summary

Program Manager

The Program Manager plays a critical role in advancing PFBA’s mission by planning, coordinating, and executing programs and initiatives that support family-owned businesses across the region. This position manages projects from concept through completion, ensuring programs are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with PFBA’s strategic goals.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and comfortable working across stakeholders including family business leaders, professional advisors, board members, and partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities
Event Management
  • Plan, develop, and manage PFBA programs, initiatives, and special projects from start to finish
  • Establish project goals, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Coordinate logistics for programs, events, peer groups, and educational initiatives
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Identify risks or challenges and recommend solutions to keep projects on track
Research & Program Development
  • Research best practices, emerging trends, and member needs related to family business
  • Support the development of new programs, services, or delivery models
  • Collect and analyze feedback and performance data to inform program improvements
  • Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences
Strategic Plan
  • Implement strategic plan
  • Track KPIs and report outcomes to supervisor and PFBA Advisory Board
Budget & Financials
  • Track outcomes and prepare required progress or final reports
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
  • Collaborate with PFBA staff, board members, facilitators, and professional advisors
  • Work with external partners, sponsors, and community organizations on joint initiatives
  • Provide clear communication and support to ensure strong engagement and alignment
Organizational Support
  • Support strategic initiatives and operational improvements across the organization
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support PFBA’s mission and growth

Reports to the Executive Director. May provide coordination or work direction to speakers, facilitators, or project teams.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and translate insights into action
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, or program documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or project management tools
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations, associations, or membership-based organizations
  • Familiarity with family business, professional services, or small business ecosystems
  • Experience working with external partners
  • Experience with Hub Spot CRM project management functions
