Qualifications

• 10+ years P&C industry experience.
• 10+ years managing complex and litigated liability claims.
• Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
• Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) a plus.
• Adjuster licenses where required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex liability claims.
• Lead rounds and formal reviews to present files and strategy.
• Monitor reserves for accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee claims to ensure quality aligns with targets.
• Attend mediations, depositions, and trials as needed.
• Direct defense counsel and support litigation strategies.
• Interpret legal documents and manage litigation plans.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Liability Program Manager is responsible for handling complex liability claims involving high dollar exposure, litigation, and coverage analysis. This role involves full life‑cycle claims management, vendor oversight, legal coordination, and direct reporting to internal and external stakeholders.You will manage strategy, lead execution, and ensure high‑quality outcomes for key accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims Management & Strategy

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex liability claims
• Present files in roundtable discussions and formal claim reviews
• Monitor reserves for accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee claims to ensure quality aligns with performance targets

Legal & Litigation Oversight

• Attend mediations, depositions, and trials as needed
• Direct defense counsel and support litigation strategies
• Interpret legal documents and manage litigation plans

Vendor & TPA Oversight

• Oversee third-party adjusters and ensure proper claim handling
• Identify and manage vendor performance related to both expense and indemnity outcomes

Stakeholder Communication

• Report claim updates to boards, claims counsel, and excess carriers
• Collaborate across departments and with external clients
• Travel as required

Special Projects

• Take on additional duties and assignments as business needs evolve

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10 years of P&C industry experience
• At least 10 years managing complex and litigated liability claims
• Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred
• Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) a plus
• Adjuster licenses where required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to present and explain complex issues effectively
• Experience managing TPAs, defense counsel, and legal process
