Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of P&C industry experience.
• At least 10 years managing complex and litigated liability claims.
• Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
• Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) a plus.
• Adjuster licenses where required.

Responsibilities

• Claims Management & Strategy: Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex liability claims.
• Present files in roundtable discussions and formal claim reviews.
• Monitor reserves for accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee claims to ensure quality aligns with performance targets.
• Legal & Litigation Oversight: Attend mediations, depositions, and trials as needed; direct defense counsel and support litigation strategies.
• Vendor & TPA Oversight: Oversee third-party adjusters and ensure proper claim handling; manage vendor performance.
• Stakeholder Communication: Report claim updates to boards, claims counsel, and excess carriers; collaborate with external clients.
• Travel as required.
• Special Projects: Take on additional duties and assignments as business needs evolve.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Liability Program Manager is responsible for handling complex liability claims involving high dollar exposure, litigation, and coverage analysis. This role involves full life-cycle claims management, vendor oversight, legal coordination, and direct reporting to internal and external stakeholders. You will manage strategy, lead execution, and ensure high-quality outcomes for key accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Claims Management & Strategy Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex liability claims
• Present files in roundtable discussions and formal claim reviews
• Monitor reserves for accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee claims to ensure quality aligns with performance targets
• Legal & Litigation Oversight Attend mediations, depositions, and trials as needed Direct defense counsel and support litigation strategies Interpret legal documents and manage litigation plans
• Vendor & TPA Oversight Oversee third-party adjusters and ensure proper claim handling Identify and manage vendor performance related to both expense and indemnity outcomes
• Stakeholder Communication Report claim updates to boards, claims counsel, and excess carriers Collaborate across departments and with external clients
• Travel as required
• Special Projects Take on additional duties and assignments as business needs evolve

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10 years of P&C industry experience
• At least 10 years managing complex and litigated liability claims
• Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred
• Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) a plus
• Adjuster licenses where required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to present and explain complex issues effectively
• Experience managing TPAs, defense counsel, and legal process
