Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Huntsville, AL seeks a seasoned Program Manager to lead integrated product teams and manage programs from inception to completion. You will coordinate cross-functional activities, drive cost/schedule/technical performance, and support business development through lifecycle management.

Requirements include a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, aerospace experience, and US citizenship to obtain a Secret clearance. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in development of aerospace structures and/or mechanisms.
  • Experience in support of production and/or testing of aerospace structures and/or mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience.
  • US Citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

  • Lead one or several integrated product teams, interacting with engineers, adjacent functions, suppliers, and stakeholders across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Coordinate cost, schedule, and technical elements, ensuring resources are available for success.
  • Support new business strategy and capture efforts with proposal support and lifecycle management.
  • Oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance of programs, including Earned Value Management, schedule status, and risk management.
  • Occasional travel as needed.

Standard Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Program Management skillsets and methodologies with demonstrated experience leading various technical teams using excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to obtain a security clearance; US citizenship required.

Being a valued member of the Next Generation Interceptor Mechanical Products organization, your responsibilities may include some of the following:

  • Lead one, or several, integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, adjacent functions, suppliers, and stakeholders, to support products through the entire engineering lifecycle.
  • Work with partnering functions to ensure all cost, schedule, and technical elements are appropriately flowed down, understood, and provide resourcing support as needed for success.
  • Support new business strategy and capture efforts with proposal support and management of engineering lifecycles from beginning to end.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical elements of one, or several, Integrated Product Teams which includes Earned Value Management, work authorization requests, Estimate At Complete reviews, schedule status, variance reporting, as well as the identification and management of risks and opportunities.
  • Occasional travel.

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience in development of aerospace structures and/or mechanisms
  • Experience in support of production and/or testing of aerospace structures and/or mechanisms
  • Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience
  • Must be a US Citizen to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
