Job summary

Lockheed Martin in the United States is seeking a seasoned Program Director to lead complex defense programs from inception to completion. You will coordinate recruitment, training, and performance across functional teams, while managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for major subsystems.

You will negotiate contracts, brief customers, and drive milestones within master plans. Strong leadership, communication, and risk management are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• The candidate will have an appropriate degree from an accredited university (e.g. Business, Science, Engineering etc.), or equivalent experience/combined education
• Must have excellent organization skills, communication skills and an analytical ability to develop and deliver concise presentations
• Must be able to establish and maintain internal and external relationships
• Results oriented with an ability to deliver
• Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors; possess positive attitude; creates and sustain inclusive work environment
• Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity Management process
• Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Responsibilities

• Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
• Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
• Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
• Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions.
• Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
