Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a Senior Public Service Administrator to serve as the Program Management Section Chief. You will plan, develop, organize, control and manage the department’s annual highway improvement program, and draft the department’s annual highway construction budget appropriations by district.

The role also oversees bond release requests to the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget, represents the IDOT on committees, and leads a team to ensure projects

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree with coursework in business, finance, management, economics, statistics, or accounting.
• Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in highway planning and programming including budgeting.
• Prefers experience with federal/state transportation regulations, funding programs, and performance-based planning.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Section Chief of Program Management for IDOT, providing strategic leadership for the highway program.
• Oversees statewide project programming, ensuring alignment with requirements, priorities, asset-management, and funding.
• Manages bond release requests to GOMB and represents the Office on department meetings/committees.
• Performs other duties within the scope of the enumerated responsibilities.
