Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a Senior Public Service Administrator to serve as the Program Management Section Chief. You will lead the annual highway improvement program, draft budget appropriations by district, and manage bond release requests to GOMB.

Ideal candidates have four years of college and four years of administrative highway planning experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in business, finance, management, economics, statistics, or accounting.
• Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in highway planning and programming including budgetary planning, accounting, and managing a fiscally constrained program.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the development, organization, and management of the State's annual highway improvement program.
• Oversee statewide project programming to align with requirements, priorities, asset-management strategies and funding.
• Manage bond release requests to the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB).

Education

Four years of college with courses in business/finance/management/economics/statistics/accounting
