Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking an organized and capable individual for a part-time position to oversee programs that support academic and recreational needs in Bethel, Alaska. The successful candidate will schedule and supervise activities, serve as a liaison among stakeholders, and assist in program evaluation. Qualifications include a high school diploma, preferred bachelor’s degree, and experience working with children.

Compensation ranges from $28.23 to $36.45 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and supervise after-school and summer academic activities.
  • Coordinate use of facilities when participants are present.
  • Liaison between teachers and after-school staff.
  • Implement tracking for academic records.
  • Assist in program evaluation data collection.
  • Develop a program calendar.
  • Submit budget plans for grant writer.
  • Train and develop program staff.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements for staff.
  • Order materials as per budget.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field) preferred; Associate of Arts degree or 60 semester hours of college credit required.
  • Two years program development experience in the area of youth and family services preferred.
  • One year experience working with school‑aged children preferred.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with community service programs and partners.
Duties
  • Schedule and supervise after‑school and summer academic and enrichment activities.
  • Coordinate the use of building facilities when participants are on premises.
  • Act as a liaison between classroom teachers and after‑school staff to address logistical, student disciplinary, or academic concerns.
  • Implement a tracking system to collect academic records on all students enrolled in the program.
  • Assist in data collection and analyses for program evaluation.
  • Develop a calendar for after‑school and summer programs.
  • Submit program plans and preliminary budgets for the LKSD grant writer.
  • Offer training and development for program staff.
  • Work with the school’s steering committee, ASB, AOTE, or other advising bodies on matters concerning the program.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements for staff to attend off‑site in‑services.
  • Order materials, supplies, and inventory for the program as outlined in the approved budget.
  • Other duties as assigned within grant parameters.
