Job summary

Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, seeks a Supplemental Instruction and Learning Support Specialist to direct the SI/PEAK programs, coordinate the Pathway to Success admission track, and provide ongoing mentorship and Learning Strategy Consultations.

This role also serves as a proctor during peak testing times, mentors Maguire Scholars, collaborates with faculty to enhance student success, and helps manage the Success Center’s services and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years experience in education, higher education, or related field (can be inclusive of work during graduate school).
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. grammar, vocabulary) to be applied to oral and written communication.
• Demonstrated computer skills in Google applications, including Docs, Sheets, etc.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in education, higher education, or a related field.
• Two or more years of demonstrated experience in academic coaching, tutoring, or peer-assisted learning programs.
• Prior experience designing and running workshops.
• Prior experience supervising student workers.

Responsibilities

• Direct the SI/PEAK program in coordination with department chairs and faculty.
• Supervise 25-35 SI Leaders, including recruiting, hiring, and approving hours.
• Train and observe SI Leaders and Mentors throughout the academic year.
• Market the SI program through classroom visits and marketing materials.
• Maintain scheduling, materials, and room changes for SI sessions.
• Document attendance and report data each semester.
• Manage PEAK program for tutors and SI Leaders.
