Job summary

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a Program Manager for the Center of Civil Dialogue and Civic Engagement to oversee daily CDCE operations, develop educational programs, and collaborate with campus partners to foster belonging and cross-cultural understanding.

The role emphasizes coordinating events, supervising student staff, and driving campus climate initiatives aligned with UWL’s mission, with virtual start and regular interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, sociology, ethnic & racial studies, communications, or related field.
• Experience coordinating large-scale campus events and initiatives, including budgeting and assessment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain CDCE website, social media, and marketing materials; assist with End of Year and AIDAC reports; assist with budget planning and management; review financial needs and process invoices and payments.
• Create educational materials and coordinate experiences that emphasize exposure to different perspectives, promote civil dialogue, and empower students civically; manage Campus Thread and career readiness initiatives.
• Collaborate with the CDCE Director to design and lead campus-wide programs with faculty, staff, and student organizations; provide guidance for training programs.
• Lead divisional programming with catering, staffing, and budget; supervise student staff, recruit and mentor; ensure engagement and development of student workers.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance of student staff; support student workforce development.
