Job summary

East Side House Settlement in Patterson, NY is seeking a Program Director for Cornerstone Patterson to oversee Cornerstone and SONYC sites, ensuring safe, inclusive environments for middle school, high school, and adult participants.

Reporting to Senior Director, you will recruit staff, manage budgets, coordinate with NYCHA and DYCD, and lead program design focused on academics, recreation, and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of field experience.
• Experience with budget management and compliance.
• Knowledge of Bronx communities, NYCHA or DYCD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of youth and adult programs.
• Recruit, hire, schedule, onboard, and supervise staff.
• Monitor performance and ensure DYCD compliance.
• Conduct staff evaluations, coaching, and monthly team meetings.
• Oversee program design focused on academics, recreation, workforce readiness, and cultural enrichment.
• Ensure compliance with DOH School-Aged Child Care and Summer Day regulations.
• Train staff on safety protocols and emergency preparedness.
• Track attendance and maintain records using DYCD Connect and internal systems.
• Manage CACFP Food Program compliance and documentation.
• Serve as main contact for NYCHA, DYCD, schools, families, and community partners.
• Build relationships with residents and community stakeholders.
• Conduct quarterly community assessments and incorporate feedback into planning.
• Plan four community events and family workshops annually.
• Cultivate partnerships to expand program offerings.
• Manage the program budget and submit reports on time.
