Connecticut Renaissance, Inc. is seeking a Program Director to lead the residential behavioral health treatment services. This role ensures high-quality, person-centered care and coordination with CSSD, DMHAS, and DOC as applicable.

The position requires on-site work 40 hours per week with at least one evening shift and potential travel to other CTR locations. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, supervising a multidisciplinary staff, ensuring compliance with ASAM criteria

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Services field or related field is required.
  • Active CT licensure: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Additional LADC a plus.
  • Three to five years supervisory experience in residential treatment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Residential Treatment Program.
  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise program operations per policies and contractual obligations.
  • Provide clinical supervision to staff in individual and group formats.
  • Lead staff training, performance assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with Clinical Supervisor.
  • Review and sign clinical documentation and conduct chart audits.
  • Monitor licensing/certification status and program safety/compliance.
  • Update Director of Residential on program status and emergencies.
  • Monitor budgets and financial performance with the Director of Residential.
  • Attend required meetings and mandatory trainings.

Job description

In collaboration with the Director of Residential Services, the Program Director provides leadership and oversight of the residential behavioral health treatment services for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This role ensures high quality, person-centered care that promotes stabilization, recovery, and meaningful connections to community's support and resources. The Program Director will ensure that the program is coordinated and operated in accordance with Connecticut Renaissance Policies and Procedures, federal and state regulations,and the requirements of DPH,DSS,DMHAS,CSSD,and DOC as appropriate.This position requires collaboration, strong communication with all levels of staff, and management to address operational, personnel, and customer service issues. The Program Director?leads?a multi-disciplinary staff and?will?maintain?current knowledge?of the biological and psychosocial dimensions of substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders, including diagnosis,?assessment?and treatment. Thisposition requires being on-site40 hours per week with at least one evening shift per week and may need to travel to other CTR locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively manage the day-to-day operations of the Residential Treatment Program, including staffing supervision, communications and coordination with CSSD, DMHAS and DOC as applicable.
  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise program operations to ensure it is operated in accordance with agency Policies & Procedures, DPH, DSS and ASAM criteria and contractual obligations.
  • Provide and document clinical supervision and oversight to clinical and non-clinical staff in individual and group formats according to agency and program requirements.
  • Provide leadership for staff training, professional development, performance assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in a rotating on call schedule with the Clinical Supervisor to ensure clinical supervisory coverage and support.
  • Review and sign clinical documentation.
  • Conduct and evaluate chart audits & record reviews to ensure service quality, compliance and adherence to organizational policies, outcomes measures and funding requirements.
  • Ensure staff members maintain the licensing and certification status.
  • Collaborate with facilities to maintain program safety, cleanliness and compliance.
  • Update Director of Residential on the status of the residential program and provide timely notification of significant issues and emergencies.
  • Monitor program budgets and financial performance in conjunction with the Director of Residential.
  • Attends required internal and external meetings and complete mandatory training.
  • Complete agency quarterly outcomes and performance measures.
  • Preform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Provide coverage for clinical hours/duties as needed.
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge Of:
  • The biological and psychosocial dimensions of substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders, including diagnosis, assessment, and treatment.
  • Outcome measures and Quality Improvement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health record systems, and standard business software.
  • Knowledge of fees for service and billing requirements for residential behavioral services.
  • HIPPA regulations and other regulatory laws.
Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services field, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology.
  • Active Connecticut licensure: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Additional LADC a plus.
  • Three to Five years of supervisory experience in residential treatment programs.
  • Experience with CSSD and DMHAS programs and clients a plus.
Other:
  • Must be dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Position requires climbing stairs and the ability to lift 20 lbs or more
  • May need to travel to other CTR locations
  • Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
  • Must have a valid CT driver's license.
