As a CBRE Program Director, you will assist with the management of teams responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects and programs. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mail, Document Services, Shipping & Receiving, your industry expertise is critical for creating and delivering operational strategic programs and providing a superior customer experience. The role involves analyzing, evaluating, creating, and delivering operational plans to provide industry-leading services to our customers and clients.
What You'll Do :
- Evaluate scope of work to understand workload and determine required headcount for daily operations.
- Create presentation materials demonstrating methodology and industry knowledge used to develop staffing and operational models.
- Utilize cross-functional roles to deliver cost-effective staffing and resource solutions.
- Provide insights on compliance and regulatory requirements related to mail, shipping, and receiving, including postal regulations, IATA/DOT shipping requirements, security screening (CBRNE), and safety standards (HAZMAT, PPE). Include considerations around HAZMAT and IATA Lab Services.
- Conduct assessments of current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Offer guidance on best practices and industry standards as a subject matter expert.
- Assist account teams with troubleshooting operational challenges and implementing solutions.
- Provide formal supervision, monitor staff training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee recruiting and hiring during transitions.
- Oversee daily team activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff, and set deadlines. Mentor and coach team members.
- Track and explain budget variances, and monitor time recording for financial and operational reports.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and escalate staffing, bandwidth, or delivery issues.
- Support resource allocation for projects and programs, facilitate regular project status meetings.
- Train staff and develop processes to support client needs.
- Report project and program statuses to senior management.
- Oversee cross-functional projects from start to finish, developing charters and timelines, ensuring schedules are met, issues resolved, and projects completed successfully.
- Manage relationships with internal, external, and vendor partners to meet deadlines.
- Apply knowledge across disciplines to improve departmental and cross-functional performance.
- Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, and negotiate with external partners to reach common goals.
- Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems using appropriate resources.
- Improve existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
- Demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, ask questions, and determine root causes to improve operations.
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time, including some weekends.
What You'll Need :
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling 6+ years.
- 4+ years of experience in Mail, Shipping, Logistics, or warehouse operations/management.
- 4+ years of experience with HazMat, IATA, DOT regulations; certifications preferred, but must obtain IATA/DOT certifications within 120 days.
- Operational knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, dollies) and regulatory safety requirements.
- Experience in staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and retention.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to all organizational levels.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Leadership skills to set and achieve targets impacting multiple departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Excellent organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
