Job description

As a CBRE Program Director, you will assist with the management of teams responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects and programs. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mail, Document Services, Shipping & Receiving, your industry expertise is critical for creating and delivering operational strategic programs and providing a superior customer experience. The role involves analyzing, evaluating, creating, and delivering operational plans to provide industry-leading services to our customers and clients.

What You'll Do :
  1. Evaluate scope of work to understand workload and determine required headcount for daily operations.
  2. Create presentation materials demonstrating methodology and industry knowledge used to develop staffing and operational models.
  3. Utilize cross-functional roles to deliver cost-effective staffing and resource solutions.
  4. Provide insights on compliance and regulatory requirements related to mail, shipping, and receiving, including postal regulations, IATA/DOT shipping requirements, security screening (CBRNE), and safety standards (HAZMAT, PPE). Include considerations around HAZMAT and IATA Lab Services.
  5. Conduct assessments of current processes and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Offer guidance on best practices and industry standards as a subject matter expert.
  7. Assist account teams with troubleshooting operational challenges and implementing solutions.
  8. Provide formal supervision, monitor staff training and development, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee recruiting and hiring during transitions.
  9. Oversee daily team activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff, and set deadlines. Mentor and coach team members.
  10. Track and explain budget variances, and monitor time recording for financial and operational reports.
  11. Serve as a point of contact for clients and escalate staffing, bandwidth, or delivery issues.
  12. Support resource allocation for projects and programs, facilitate regular project status meetings.
  13. Train staff and develop processes to support client needs.
  14. Report project and program statuses to senior management.
  15. Oversee cross-functional projects from start to finish, developing charters and timelines, ensuring schedules are met, issues resolved, and projects completed successfully.
  16. Manage relationships with internal, external, and vendor partners to meet deadlines.
  17. Apply knowledge across disciplines to improve departmental and cross-functional performance.
  18. Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, and negotiate with external partners to reach common goals.
  19. Identify and solve complex operational and organizational problems using appropriate resources.
  20. Improve existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
  21. Demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, ask questions, and determine root causes to improve operations.
  22. Able to travel up to 50% of the time, including some weekends.
What You'll Need :
  1. Bachelor's Degree preferred with 4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling 6+ years.
  2. 4+ years of experience in Mail, Shipping, Logistics, or warehouse operations/management.
  3. 4+ years of experience with HazMat, IATA, DOT regulations; certifications preferred, but must obtain IATA/DOT certifications within 120 days.
  4. Operational knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, dollies) and regulatory safety requirements.
  5. Experience in staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and retention.
  6. Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to all organizational levels.
  7. Strong communication and documentation skills.
  8. Leadership skills to set and achieve targets impacting multiple departments.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  10. Excellent organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
  11. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
