Job Overview – Program Director (Temporary to Permanent)

Compensation: $50 - $58/Hour
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Atlantic Group is hiring a Program Director (Temporary to Permanent) for our client, supporting the leadership and daily operations of community-based residential programs serving vulnerable populations. This leadership role will oversee program operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, service delivery, and continuous quality improvement while ensuring high standards of care and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience within human services, social services, or residential programs, along with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, drive program performance, and support a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Oversee daily program operations, establish performance goals, monitor outcomes, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop program staff while supporting hiring, performance management, training, and professional development.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements while supporting quality improvement initiatives.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage program resources, oversee reporting, monitor performance metrics, and implement operational improvements to support program success.
  • Client Services: Promote client-centered service delivery while ensuring programs effectively meet participant needs and organizational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, community organizations, and external stakeholders to support program initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of leadership or management experience and 5+ years of experience supporting vulnerable populations within human services, social services, behavioral health, residential programs, or a related field are required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience within homeless services, shelter operations, supportive housing, or community-based programs is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic case management or program reporting systems is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, crisis management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, supervise multidisciplinary teams, and drive operational excellence are required. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
