Job summary

The San Diego LGBT Community Center is seeking a Program Data Specialist in San Diego to support Sexual Health and Wellness programs through timely data entry, database management, and data quality assurance. Responsibilities include scheduling HIV, STI, and Hepatitis testing, client communication, and referrals.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ year experience in data-related roles, and English fluency.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of one year of experience in data entry, database management, administrative support, customer service, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail; strong planning and organizational skills; ability to accurately manage and review data, resolve discrepancies, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and provide basic training and technical assistance to staff.
Organized and detail-oriented; ability to work independently and as part of a team; professional and respectful communication style; commitment to maintaining client confidentiality; Familiarity with LGBTQ+ communities and the work of The Center.
MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to learn and navigate multiple databases.
Fluency in English
Regular schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional evening hours required based on departmental and program needs.

Responsibilities

Enter program, client, service, testing, outreach, and navigation data accurately and within established timelines.
Maintain data in Apricot, LEO, HIPO, SPARS, and other required databases.
Conduct routine data quality checks for completeness, accuracy, duplicates, and discrepancies.
Identify data issues and coordinate with staff to ensure timely resolutions.
Assist with compiling and organizing data for internal departmental needs and required documentation.
Provide staff training and technical assistance on data entry, documentation, database use, and data quality requirements.
Maintain organized and accurate program records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable confidentiality requirements.
Provide administrative and operational support to ensure efficient service.
Assist staff with identifying and correcting documentation and data collection.
Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, quality improvement activities, and organizational initiatives.
Assist with Saturday testing operations as needed, including screening clients and facilitating entry into the building for scheduled appointments.
Work with the Sexual Health and Wellness Director and staff to improve data processes, documentation, and workflow.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Sexual Health & Wellness department.
Assist clients with scheduling HIV, STI, and hepatitis testing.
Provide information about Sexual Health & Wellness services and community resources.
Make appropriate internal and external referrals based on client needs and eligibility.
Document client communications, referrals, and appointment activities in appropriate records and databases.
Maintain client confidentiality and privacy in all communications, documentation, and data systems.
