Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is seeking a Program Assistant for Small and Mid-Size Development to support SRDI, MOVE-IN, LCAP, MHAP, and MHCFP funding programs. The role focuses on maintaining project files, processing disbursement requests, and assisting with closeouts, while serving as a primary contact for awardees and general inquiries.

Reporting to SMD leadership, you will help organize applications, prepare documents, and manage reporting through SharePoint and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 3+ years in a fast-paced office environment.
• Experience handling sensitive documents and confidential information with discretion.
• Familiarity with housing or community development programs is a plus.
• Strong MS Office, SharePoint, and calendar/scheduling skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operation of SMD programs (SRDI, MOVE-IN, LCAP, MHAP, MHCFP).
• Maintain project files, process disbursement requests, and assist with closeout.
• Serve as a point of contact for awardees and program inquiries.
• Prepare letters, memos, and procedural documents; format documents with advanced Word features.
