Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is seeking a Grant Project Manager to join the Office of Community Renewal’s State Housing grants team in Albany. You will oversee a portfolio of grant projects from application review to funding, development, and compliance, providing guidance to awardees and staff.

Ideal candidates are organized, detail oriented, and capable of independent work, with strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated experience in administrative

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with two years of work experience in community development or related field.
• Affinity toward technology and data management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with attention to detail.
• Experience performing administrative duties with speed and accuracy; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills; familiarity with PDF forms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of grant contracts through all phases from funding to compliance.
• Review grant applications and prepare approval documents and contracts; support funding decisions.
• Provide technical assistance to program grantees and staff; respond to questions via phone and email.
• Draft memos, correspondence, reports, and presentations as needed.
• Attend meetings and assist with community development events and workshops.
• Travel occasionally to visit grantees and monitor projects.
