Job Description and Requirements:

The Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (OEC), in partnership with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA), is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to support the Brand Academy. The academy aims to help student-athletes and others develop, manage, and monetize their personal brands through NIL opportunities and support their entrepreneurial interests.

This role is based at the Morgan Academic Center on the University Park Campus and is a fully in-person position.

Reporting to the Director of the Brand Academy, responsibilities include developing and delivering programming aligned with the academy's strategic goals for student-athletes' personal branding and entrepreneurial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support student-athletes with contractual obligations, NIL opportunities, and brand development.
  • Develop actionable plans and execute programming with limited supervision.
  • Collaborate with the Director to create educational programs, experiential learning, and events focused on NIL and entrepreneurship.
  • Educate student-athletes on branding, social media, marketing, and financial skills.
  • Identify tools and mentors for student entrepreneurs pursuing NIL and product development.
  • Design hands-on experiences for business development, idea validation, and customer discovery.
  • Coach athletes on next steps and connect them to additional resources.
  • Partner with Happy Valley LaunchBox to support entrepreneurial initiatives.
  • Assist with workshops on content creation, branding, and social media marketing.
  • Support cross-organizational collaborations to expand resources.
  • Ensure compliance with NIL laws, NCAA, Big Ten, and PSU policies.
  • Provide administrative support and maintain accurate data for the academy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 6+ years of experience in educational programming or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of NIL.
  • Experience working with student-athletes and supporting entrepreneurial mindsets.
  • Skills in personal branding, customer discovery, lean startup methodology, PR, and negotiation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
