Job summary

East Side Arts Council seeks a Program Coordinator to manage afterschool and out-of-day youth art programs on the East Side of St. Paul. This role also handles artist contracts, supervision, and support for ESAC events and grants.

With a 30-hour workweek, salary based on $16.50 per hour, paid holidays, sick days and vacation, and reports to the Executive Director, this position offers hands-on community arts experience in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating afterschool youth art programs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with Google Suite, Canva, and Mailchimp a plus.
• Strong communication with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

Program Coordinator East Side Arts Council Details: 30 hours per week Pay: Salaried based on $16.50 per hour with paid holidays, sick days and vacation days Reports to: Executive Director

ABOUT US

East Side Arts Council (ESAC) is rooted in an area that is home to almost half of St. Paul’s residents. The East Side neighborhoods where ESAC primarily works are very diverse in terms of culture. Operating out of a storefront on St. Paul’s Payne Avenue, through a traveling Artmobile, and with outstanding artists who travel to schools, parks, and other accessible sites, ESAC offers free art programs for people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic status. Historically a first stop for immigrants, the East Side has an ever-changing cultural mix from the Swedes, Italians and Poles of the 19th century to the waves of African American, Somali, Southeast Asian, Hmong, Karen and Latino people currently living on the East Side. Poverty levels are high here and arts in schools have been cut in many. The mission of the East Side Arts Council is to collaborate with our community and artists to celebrate and experience the arts. Our programs focus on Arts for All.

DESCRIPTION

• Coordinating afterschool, out of day youth art programs, and during school artist residencies
• Create contracts for artists using ESAC approved contract form
• Hiring and supervising artists
• Coordinating summer Artmobile and Summer Blast free youth art programs
• Coordinating Creative Connections for Seniors 62+ arts classes by Mailchimp, email, and phone
• Ordering supplies for classes
• Keep track of program details for each program as grants are spent
• Assisting Executive Director with final grant completion reports and grant requests
• Managing new projects as they develop and assisting with ESAC events

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for arts and community
• Interest in working with diverse groups of people
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and juggle several projects at once
• Experience with Google Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, and Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.
