Job summary

YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a Program Coordinator to work with staff and participants to ensure high-quality youth and adult sports and programs. The role supports the Director with oversight and overall operations of all assigned programming.

The position involves developing operating plans, supervising program activities, aiding fundraising efforts, and ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in related field or equivalent (required).
• Related experience preferred.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications (required within 30 days of hire).
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Program Coordinator will work with the Program staff and participants to ensure the highest quality of all youth and adult sports & programs. The Program Coordinator will also support the Director with oversight and overall operations of all assigned programming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
• Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands the youth sports programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/
  boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
• Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
• Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
• Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely (24-48 hours) manner.
• Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
  in the program.
