Job summary

Houston Community College in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide administrative oversight for outreach, implementation, and management of assigned programs.

You will assist in planning and facilitating programs and events, form partnerships with business and community agencies, and expand exposure to skilled workforce opportunities. Proficiency in MS Office and project management is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Education or related field required.
  • 4 years experience in student retention, training, teaching, project management, program development and implementation, program sustainment required.
  • Higher education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, developing and facilitating assigned programs and events.
  • Assist with the formation of partnerships with business, industry, community agencies, state and federal agencies to meet the needs of the assigned program.
  • Enhance exposure to skilled workforce employment opportunities.
  • Gather and maintain data for and assist in preparing reports, often using a variety of computer software; prepare statistics and reports on program participation, marketing responses, budget, and evaluations.
  • Keep current on trends, compliance issues, regulations and guidelines regarding subject matter; advise supervisor accordingly.
  • Monitor progress of all community partners, prepare reports and evaluations of activities as required.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

Working Conditions

General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
