Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Program Chief Engineer in Millersville, MD. The role leads a cross-functional engineering team across the full program lifecycle, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery for complex defense programs.

Responsibilities include direct technical leadership, cost and schedule accountability, and collaboration with IPTs to drive design to cost and readiness. A DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with extensive engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams through full program lifecycles.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance and US citizenship required.
• Experience transitioning programs from development to production.
• Knowledge of CAM, EVMS, risk and opportunity management, and engineering metrics.
• Bid/Proposal experience including technical volume writing and BOE review.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team across design, development, manufacturing, qualification, integration and test, and transition to production.
• Oversee seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems with stakeholders.
• Guide reviews, technical meetings, and project planning to meet goals.
• Accountability for technical, cost, and schedule performance of the program.
• Establish staffing and resource plans with the organization to meet time and funding constraints.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
• Support RCCA efforts and use EVMS/metrics to drive program decisions.
