Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Program Assistant VI to provide support for our government customer in Arlington, Virginia.

Provide comprehensive administrative, Foreign Service, onboarding, Pickering/Rangel Fellowship, and housing operations support for the U.S. Department of State. This includes initiating and updating records for Generalist, Specialist, and Limited Non-Career candidates related to employment; providing guidance on ranking, deferment, veteran points, and language rules and regulations; and responding to candidate inquiries by email and telephone regarding ranking, deferment, language points, veteran points, medical/security clearance, and suitability questions. Coordinate candidate processing, personnel actions, Foreign Service hiring and onboarding activities, security requirements, fellowship administration, and housing logistics while ensuring compliance with Department policies, federal regulations, and established customer service standards. Prepare memos and scan employment documents for submission to Payroll; initiate new hires into the travel database; initiate new hire personnel actions (SF 50); and prepare and forward SF 75 requests for personal data on transferring employees from other federal agencies. Liaise with Records Management for retrieving and retiring hired and closed candidate files and coordinate with Diplomatic Security (DS) representatives for processing candidates who pass the oral assessment.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with Records Management to retrieve, maintain, and archive personnel files.
  • Prepare new employee orientation materials and onboarding packets.
  • Maintain hiring, onboarding, customer service, and statistical reports.
  • Brief supervisors on workload status and assist with special projects.
  • Provide administrative support, including scanning, filing, document management, and office support.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

High School Diploma

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Six (6) years experience

  • This role requires assessing instructions, prioritizing appropriately, and ensuring all actions align with program goals and client expectations.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE

  • Ability to pass a background/finger print check.
  • SECRET clearance is required.
COMPENSATION DETAILS

$95,000.00-$105,000.00

The compensation range or hourly rate provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable laws.
