Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Program Assistant to support Family Service Specialists and the Community Partnership Supervisor across governance, family and community engagement, and coordination efforts.

You will contribute to staff development, interagency liaison, and mobilization of community resources, while maintaining accurate records, reports, and referrals for Head Start and Early Head Start programs serving children ages 0–5.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• TB clearance within 6 months’ prior.
• Influenza vaccination between Nov 1 – Mar 31.
• Pertussis and measles immunization.
• Health screening at the time of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interact with children in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and training to Family Advocates as needed.
• Review documentation for completion and conformity; ensure accurate notes.
• Coordinate Policy Council and Parent Center Committee meetings; submit EOM paperwork.
• Coordinate social service area activities with other area staff; monitor budgets.
• Compile data, prepare information, and submit reports and forms timely.
• Assist with sponsored events and transportation coordination; update postings.
