Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Program Assistant to support Family Service Specialists in governance, engagement, and coordination across Head Start programs in the Los Angeles area. You will help with planning, policy coordination, and mobilizing community resources to assist families and children.

The role requires fingerprint clearance, ability to work with diverse communities, and strong organizational skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, with opportunities to contribute to program

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance/background check.
• TB clearance within 6 months prior; annual influenza vaccination.
• Health screening at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and training to Family Advocates as needed, including using Strengths and Needs Tool and IFPA.
• Review documentation for completion and conformity; verify volunteer time sheets and case management notes.
• Compile data, prepare information, and submit reports and forms promptly.
• Coordinate meetings with Policy Council/Parent Center Committee; collect documents for EOM paperwork.
• Coordinate social service activities with area staff; monitor site budgets and approvals.
• Assist staff in referring families for appropriate services and resources.
• Update site parent center boards with required postings.
