Job summary

Elon University in North Carolina is seeking a Program Assistant to support Exercise Science, Neuroscience, and Physics/Astronomy departments on Elon Main Campus. The role serves as the primary staff assistant to Chairs and faculty, handling administrative duties, communications, and office operations.

The position requires a High School Diploma with at least 2 years in an office environment, strong organizational and confidentiality skills, and the ability to coordinate calendars, records, and

Qualifications

• Proficiency with office technologies and communications.
• Ability to maintain calendars, records, and reports.
• Familiarity with college/university policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide front office support to the Units represented
• Maintain the Unit's calendar/schedule, anticipate annual cycle of required meetings and reports across academic year and ensure that the Chair completes those items in a timely manner
• Maintain the faculty, staff, and department digital records (annual reports, assessment reports, and external reviews for the department)
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to personnel and student needs
• Assist faculty, as needed, in summarizing department level reports
• On board new faculty and staff within the Unit, including training and meetings with key offices
• Event planning and communication for Unit office(s)
• Support University Communications liaison to the College in maintenance of the Unit webpages
• Reflects a unified voice of the College in the operations and communications with other offices on campus and throughout higher education.
• Train and supervise student workers within the Unit
