Job summary

Elon University is hiring a Program Assistant in the School of Communications on Elon Main Campus. This full-time staff role reports to the director of student engagement and special projects and an instructor of journalism.

The position involves front-desk duties, administrative support to deans, chairs, and staff, event planning, and coordination of offices and programs, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, with computer and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of first contact for visitors to the School of Communications by greeting those who come to the office and answering the phone.
• Provide administrative support for the deans, chairs, faculty and staff.
• Schedule appointments for staff persons located in the student affairs office of McEwen.
• Assist faculty and staff with instructional supplies, copying and issues.
• Monitor and order office supplies and promotional materials.
• Schedule McEwen meeting spaces.
• Work with Admissions on prospective student visitors and special events such as Fellows Weekend.
• Lead all aspects of event planning for School of Communications events.
