Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC seeks a Program Analyst to support I MEF at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on managing Lessons Learned programs, collecting AARs, and producing targeted analyses and presentations for leadership.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years of US military experience, a strong background in research and reporting, and the ability to work on-site with occasional travel. US citizenship and a Top Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Leadership, or related field (or experience substitution).
  • Twelve (12) years US Military experience preferred, Marine Corps background favored.
  • Strong research, analysis, and writing of military quality reports.

Responsibilities

Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC has a potential need for a Program Analyst to support I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage comprehensive Lessons Learned (LL) programs across all III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) units and subordinate commands
  • Collect and compile After Action Reports (AARs) from exercises, deployments, and training events
  • Support formal Lessons Learned collection efforts through interviews, observations, and analysis
  • Coordinate Lessons Learned activities with multiple units across III MEF to ensure comprehensive coverage
  • Process, analyze, and disseminate actionable lessons learned to improve operational effectiveness
  • Maintain Lessons Learned databases and tracking systems to ensure accessibility and proper categorization
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned working groups and coordination meetings with III MEF staff and subordinate units
  • Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations on trends, observations, and recommendations
  • Support high OPTEMPO requirements with responsive and timely analytical support
  • Travel required.
  • May require occasional extended hours to meet mission requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Leadership, or related field. Degree may be substituted for experience
  • Valid United States Passport required.
  • Graduate of Marine Corps Command & Staff College or equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE) (preferred).
  • Derivative Classification.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least twelve (12) years of experience serving in the US Military, with a strong preference for service in the Marine Corps. Sixteen (16)+ years of experience required if substituting experience for education. Substituted experience may be a combination of military service, DoD civilian, or DoD contractor in similar role(s).
  • Experience in a combat arms, logistics, supply, or operations MOS or serving in a division staff level (or above) position. Prior experience supporting military policy strongly desired.
  • Prior experience conducting in-depth research and complete and definitive analysis, documenting lessons learned, developing and writing military quality reports to include situational reports, developing planning documents and proposals, and creating presentations.
  • Experience developing lessons learned questionaires and conducting interviews, or similar types of documentation and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate and interface with Military leaders and commanders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, build rapport with end users, customers, and unit leaders in order to develop effective working relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills and strong analytical skills. Strong Mircosoft Office, 365, and SharePoint skills.
  • Must be able to work on site in Okinawa Japan
  • May require extended hours and flexibility to meet mission demands during high-tempo periods
  • Occasional field visits to subordinate units may be required
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to adapt to chaning work enviornments and operational tempos.
  • Advanced understanding of military tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).
  • Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
