Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Insurance seeks a detail-oriented Program Analyst I to provide independent consultation, technical assistance, and program administration for insurance and risk-related programs serving over 100 LEAs and community colleges statewide.

You will analyze claims, manage data, and support negotiations and renewals while interfacing with IT for system upgrades; hybrid work is available with one remote day weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years progressively responsible experience in the area.
• Professional insurance designation such as CIC, CPCU, AIS, ARM, TRA, CIRP, CRM, AIC preferred.
• Ability to provide clear guidance to state agencies, universities, and local governments.
• Strong policy analysis and program improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Process, underwrite, and rate commercial property policies and endorsements.
• Interpret School Laws and School Insurance Fund scope of coverage.
• Consult LEAs and community colleges on insurance needs and requirements.
• Input/manage data within SPEPIF systems with high accuracy.
• Maintain property policy rating matrices with excess brokers.
