Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Insurance, Office of State Fire Marshal, is seeking a Program Analyst I to support property insurance programs, data management, and policy analysis. You will work with this division across multiple stakeholders including schools and local governments.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with one remote day per week and a recruitment salary range of $60,881 to $70,000. A Bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years progressively responsible experience or equivalent combo.
• Professional designation appropriate to specialty area (e.g., CIC, CPCU, AIS, ARM, TRA, CIRP, CRM, AIC).
• Ability to provide clear guidance to state agencies, universities, and local governments.

Responsibilities

• Process, underwrite, and rate commercial property insurance policies and related documents.
• Interpret Public School Laws and School Insurance Fund coverage policies.
• Advise LEAs and community colleges on insurance needs and requirements.
• Input and manage data within SPEPIF systems with high accuracy.
• Manage property policy rating matrices with brokers and assist with audits and renewals.
