Job summary

North Carolina Department of Insurance, Office of State Fire Marshal, is seeking a Program Analyst I to provide independent consultation, technical assistance, and program administration for insurance and risk-related programs serving over 100 LEAs and community colleges statewide.

The role requires reviewing underwriting, rating, data analysis, loss investigations, and maintaining SPFIF and related databases, with a hybrid work schedule including one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience.
• Experience with insurance underwriting, rating, or risk management preferred.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Process, underwrite, and rate commercial property policies.
• Interpret Public School Laws and School Insurance Fund coverage.
• Consult with LEAs and community colleges on insurance needs and admin requirements.
• Input and manage data within SPEPIF systems with high accuracy.
• Review property and building contents values and issue certificates of insurance.
