Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the planning and development of large-scale initiatives within the region. The role focuses on managing multiple training and professional development projects while ensuring alignment with governing directives.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of local government or related experience, with strong communication and leadership skills to drive timely outcomes and collaborative

About Houston-Galveston Area Council

What will I be doing?
  • Assist with the planning and development of new and existing large-scale projects
  • Manage multiple projects related to training and professional development
  • Develop action plans to streamline processes and achieve expected outcomes in a timely manner
  • Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Board’s directive and compliant with all federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Supervise diverse team of individuals
  • Strategically adjust work load amongst team members
  • Effectively communicate unit and project status
Key Qualifications
  • Experienced in Project Management Principles and proven ability to handle large-scale projects from inception to completion, and anywhere in between
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple competing deadlines
  • Skill in allocating scarce resources, including human capital
  • Effective leadership, motivation, and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving capabilities
Do you have…
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
  • 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties

Salary range: $85,000.00 - $93,000.00
