Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and regulations.
  • Enter and maintain project budgets, budget amendments, and budget adjustments; monitor expenses versus budgets.
  • Prepare and submit reimbursements, grant billings, and monthly adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare interim and final closeout financial reports to grantor agencies.
  • Maintain monthly grant schedule of expenditures and AR reconciliation.
  • Approve and process financial reports and monitor payment status.

About Houston-Galveston Area Council

What will I be doing?
  • Monitor and review grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and regulations for various State and Federal funded grants.
  • Enter and maintain project budgets, budget amendments, and budget adjustments; monitor expenses versus budgets to assist program staff with project oversight.
  • Prepare and submit timely requests for reimbursements to grantor agencies.
  • Prepare and submit grant manual billings and monthly adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare and submit timely interim and final closeout financial reports to grantor agencies.
  • Maintain monthly grant schedule of expenditures and monthly grant AR reconciliation for assigned grants.
  • Approve and process financial reports.
  • Monitoring outstanding financial billings and requesting payment status from grantor agencies.
  • Prepare and present information and financial reports for internal staff
  • Support team members by gathering support documentation for monitoring and audits; filling in other positions when needed.
  • Ensure all work is accurate, complete, and compliant with federal regulations.
Key Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Governmental Accounting principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks & prioritize deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe software applications.

Salary range: $80,000.00 - $85,500.00
