Position Overview

Reporting to the Program Director of the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP), the Program Administrator works as a member of a team to provide comprehensive pre‑collegiate/dropout prevention services to six‑through‑twelve grade students attending LPP partner schools. The incumbent’s primary responsibilities include individual and group case management; academic services; planning enrichment trips; development and implementation of college, workforce, and life‑skill workshops; development and supervision of a high school/college mentoring program; guidance to volunteers, tutors, and seasonal staff; and maintenance of program records and data collection. This position may require evening and weekend hours.

Essential Functions
  • Develop, plan, implement, and supervise year‑around programming and events to help students meet academic and social standards.
  • Review and assess the social/emotional and academic needs of students to refer them to appropriate LPP services.
  • Coordinate student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and other compliance activities for reporting to the New York State Department of Education.
  • Collaborate with school liaisons, community partners, and university departments for the maintenance and/or development of programs and events.
  • Provide guidance to student interns, volunteers, tutors, and seasonal staff to ensure effective engagement with students and parents.
  • Assist students in preparing for high school, college, scholarships/financial aid applications and required educational documents.
  • Develop and implement workshops to educate families, students, and/or school staff on relevant issues.

Management Responsibilities

Provide peer‑level coordination or subject‑matter guidance to colleagues performing similar work and/or student, part‑time workers, including helping organize tasks, clarify priorities, or review work for quality or consistency.

Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with underserved youth in a school or youth development setting with particular emphasis on grades 6‑12.
  • Experience with facilitating workshops and groups.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to leverage technology to support operational efficiency and communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong time‑management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity, with the ability to effectively engage and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative in addressing challenges and opportunities.
  • Patience, flexibility, and adaptability when responding to changing priorities, stakeholder needs, and complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate the dynamic environment, policies, procedures, and organizational structures of public school systems and educational institutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, administrators, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in education, social work, or counseling.
  • Bilingual, Spanish.
Compensation

Minimum Starting Salary: $66,555

Maximum Starting Salary: $72,210

Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
