Responsibilities

• Manage the professional staff hiring and recruiting process.
• Maintain applicant files and coordinate outside and internal recruiting.
• Oversee new employee orientation for professional staff.
• Manage mentoring and promotion processes.
• Prepare offers and coordinate promotions with leadership.
• Communicate with commanders on promotions and qualifications.
• Distribute applications for review and coordinate interview selection.
• Organize interviews, provide instructions, and set up testing.
• Correspond with applicants throughout the process.
• Serve on interviews and committees as assigned.
• Disseminate employment opportunities and requirements.
• Coordinate recruiting with educational facilities.
• Initiate background investigations and related checks.
• Keep current on employment laws and regulations.
• Evaluate background investigations and make recommendations.
• Update job descriptions and department databases.
• Interpret civilian hiring rules and provide counsel.
• Develop new systems and complete special projects.
• Assist the Executive Secretary of the Personnel Board.
• Liaise with State Personnel Department on applications.
• Manage contract proposals and renewals.
