Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our Bethlehem, PA Survey Department. This mid-career role blends technical survey work with project coordination and client interaction.

You will manage projects from scope through completion, coordinate field crews, and prepare deliverables. Ideal candidates have PA PLS or SIT and several years of experience in boundary, topo, and construction surveying, with proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania PLS or SIT certification.
  • Several years of progressive land surveying experience.
  • Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
  • Experience with survey calculations and data review.
  • Ability to interpret deeds, plats, easements and property records.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or similar software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate a variety of land surveying projects from initial scope through completion.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, project stakeholders, and internal team members.
  • Review project requirements, establish scope, and assist with scheduling and resource coordination.
  • Perform and/or oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and other land surveying services.
  • Conduct research and analyze deeds, plans, easements, right-of-way information, and other property records.
  • Perform survey calculations and quality-control reviews.
  • Prepare and review survey plans, plats, exhibits, and other technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate with field crews, CAD technicians, engineers, and other project professionals.
  • Visit project sites as needed to support field operations and resolve project-related issues.
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand project needs and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with project proposals, scopes of work, and estimates.
  • Maintain a high standard of technical accuracy and quality control.
  • Help mentor and support less-experienced members of the Survey Department.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Survey Department.

Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Project Manager

Location: Bethlehem, PA

We are a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm with a long history of serving clients throughout the region. Our team provides professional surveying, civil engineering, environmental, and related services across a diverse range of projects.

We are currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our growing Survey Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career survey professional who enjoys a combination of technical work, project coordination, client interaction, and field support.

The ideal candidate will have the technical foundation to manage survey projects with increasing independence and the desire to take on greater responsibility within an established department.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

  • Pennsylvania PLS or SIT certification
  • Several years of progressive land surveying experience
  • Strong understanding of boundary surveying, topographic surveying, construction surveying, and related survey practices
  • Experience performing survey calculations and reviewing survey data
  • Ability to interpret deeds, plats, plans, easements, and other property records
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or similar surveying/CAD software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, field crews, CAD staff, engineers, and other project stakeholders
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently
