Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey Professional Land Surveyor (NJ PLS) license required.
  • 7+ years of progressive land surveying experience preferred.
  • Strong background in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and/or other land surveying services.
  • Previous experience managing survey projects and coordinating field and office personnel.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, procedures, and applicable NJ standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency with modern surveying technology and industry software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage survey projects from initial scope and proposal through final deliverables.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Coordinate and oversee field survey crews and office staff.
  • Review survey data, calculations, plans, and technical deliverables for accuracy and quality.
  • Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and other land surveying projects.
  • Prepare and review legal descriptions, survey plans, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate surveying activities with engineering, planning, environmental, and other project disciplines.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Assist with proposals, estimates, and business development activities.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to survey staff.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (NJ PLS) to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed professional who enjoys combining technical surveying expertise, project management, client interaction, and team leadership. The Survey Project Manager will oversee surveying projects from initial scope through completion while working closely with clients, field crews, survey technicians, engineers, and other disciplines throughout the organization.

The company provides a diverse range of professional services, including Municipal, Environmental, Solid Waste Management, Transportation, Structural & Architectural, and Planning services.
