Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking a Program Coordinator – Professional Development to join the Workforce Solutions team within the Human Services department. You will support planning, coordination, and implementation of training initiatives for staff and contracted providers.

You will work with Senior Planners and regional partners to align training with board expectations, develop content, and monitor program quality across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field is required.
• 3 years of experience with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or related duties.
• Experience delivering or supporting instructor-led or virtual trainings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and delivery of professional development initiatives.
• Deliver or support instructor-led and virtual trainings for Workforce Solutions staff and providers.
• Collaborate with senior planners and regional partners to execute board-approved training plans.
• Develop job aids, facilitator guides, and training materials aligned with adult learning principles.
• Monitor alignment with PD guidelines and support continuous improvement across the system.
