Job Description
** JOB SUMMARY:**
The Catholic Health (CH) Health Information Management (HIM) Educator/Auditor is responsible for providing Provider Coding education, including but not limited to, ICD-10 CM diagnosis selection and sequencing and appropriate E & M level selection, to the Enterprise.
This position works cooperatively with physicians and mid-level providers, Physician Enterprise leadership, provider billing leadership and others to ensure that CHS/Trinity-employed providers appropriate code the medical services that are provided.
The Educator/Auditor will introduce new providers to the coding program requirements across CHS/Trinity and provide any needed training.
Additionally, new providers will be audited at 100% until (s)he attains an 85% accuracy rate. Once that accuracy is achieved, the provider will move to the standard auditing program provided.
This position will also partner with provider billing services and Revenue Integrity annually to create, disseminate and provide education on new ICD-10 CM diagnosis codes as well as CPT-4 procedure code updates.
This position will also offer support for various coding-related initiatives as needed.
